Before Treatment
- If you're on blood thinners, aspirin, or any anti-inflammatory medication, let your doctor know before your session. These affect scalp sensitivity and how the tissue responds to the growth promoter being delivered your doctor will confirm what needs to be paused and when.
- Avoid alcohol for at least 48–72 hours before your appointment. HGP therapy works by stimulating follicle activity at a cellular level and alcohol in the system affects how receptive the scalp environment is to that process.
- Don't apply any oil, serum, minoxidil, or topical hair product to the scalp on the day of your session. The scalp needs to be completely clean so the growth promoter can be delivered directly to the follicles without anything blocking the surface.
- Avoid other active scalp treatments laser, mesotherapy, exosome therapy, or chemical applications for at least a week before your HGP session. Too many active ingredients working in the scalp simultaneously can overstimulate the tissue and dilute the effect of each individual treatment.
- If you're currently on any oral medication for hair loss finasteride, dutasteride, or similar mention it at your consultation. HGP therapy can work alongside certain treatments but your doctor needs the full picture before planning the session.
- Have a light meal before coming in. Some patients experience mild lightheadedness after scalp-based therapies and going in on a completely empty stomach makes that more likely.
After Treatment
- Avoid washing the scalp for at least 24 hours post-session. The growth promoter needs uninterrupted absorption time to reach the follicles and work at the depth it's designed for washing too soon cuts that window short.
- Hold off on applying minoxidil, oils, serums, or any other topical product for the first 24 hours after treatment. Introducing other actives immediately after HGP can interfere with how the growth promoter settles into the scalp tissue.
- Some mild redness, a slight tingling sensation, or minor sensitivity at the treatment sites immediately after the session is completely normal. It settles within a few hours and doesn't need any intervention.
- Stay out of direct sun for at least 48 hours post-treatment. The scalp is in an active phase after HGP therapy and UV exposure during this window can work against what the growth promoter is doing at the follicle level.
- Skip intense workouts and anything that causes heavy sweating for at least 24 hours post-session. Sweat over a freshly treated scalp irritates the delivery sites and affects how the therapy absorbs into the tissue.
- HGP therapy works cumulatively improved follicle activity, reduced shedding, and visible strengthening of existing hair build progressively across the recommended course of sessions. Consistency with the session schedule is what separates a partial result from a meaningful one.
